Week 8

We have had a great week this week; we have started our art for our calendars (sorry, we can't reveal those just yet), Thursday we had a shared lunch and then a fun afternoon doing Big Ball sports with the whole school.  Whilst we were doing that Bradley, Patrick, Levi A, Brianna and Ihaka went to the inter-school cross country and really enjoyed themselves.  On Friday afternoon our buddy class, Room 2, came over to us and read to us. Next term we are going to get some library books out and we will read to Room 2. Here are the photos from Friday and we all wrote a little 'blog' about  our thoughts on buddy reading.

I read with Marcus.  My favourite book that Marcus read to me was Bobo’s Hat. It was about Bobo the clown trying to find a hat that is perfect for him.  Bobo the clown found a duck that spouts water out of its beak.  Ethan

I read with Anixzaydia and we read The Space Monster.  I like Anix reading to me because he stopped at every full stop.  Levi A

Emily puts lots of effort into her reading and she puts in expression too.  I like the story she chose which was Father Bear goes Fishing.  Rayne

Emily, Rayne and I buddy read together on the grass by Room 7.  I enjoyed reading with Emily because she reads nice and clear.  Purerehua.

I buddied up with Jacob from Room 2 and what I liked about his reading was that he has a nice, clear voice and it was not too loud.  Danielle.

I liked reading with Jacob too.  We read Little Red Hen and I liked the way he sounded out the words.  Renee F.

Thomas and Xzavia were buddy reading with Jovahn and they all thought it was fun. Xzavia says, “we were taking in turns at reading and we were helping each other.’

I like buddy reading with Henare.  He knows lots of words in his books.  Henare brought over lots of books to read and it was so much fun.  Renee M

Jake and Chayce like to read together.  They read The Cat and the Rat, Gumboot.  Jakes says that Chayce reads fast and fluently.

I like reading with Gracie because it encourages her to learn how the words are pronounced.  Gracie and I were reading some pretty good stories.  One of them was the Worm House.  Brianna

Samara and I were reading Miss Pool is Cool and it was cool because she made funny noises and when I read to her I couldn’t because I was still laughing.  Jessi Jean
We liked reading with Te Toa because we hardly had to help him because he is such a good reader.  Alizay and Tori.
Mrs Huck still hasn't learnt how to put videos on our blog but she is going to learn how to do it in the school holidays. We hope you enjoy reading our blog.

Welcome to Room 7

We have been working hard this year in Room 7 and we would like to show you some of the things we have been doing this year.

Our main theme for the year is 'All about Me!'.

In term one we shared information about ourselves and discovered that we are all humans but we are all very different, in fact each one of us is unique.

In term two we learnt about how our bodies worked.  We found out lots of interesting things about the human body.

We started this term with Constable Paul coming to school every day and he taught us about 'Keeping Safe'.  We enjoyed it when he showed us his handcuffs, baton and let us work the siren on his police car.  Constable Shane also brought a police dog puppy, Quip, to Room 7.  Quip was very cute.

We are now learning about 'Staying Healthy' and we have been reading lots of food labels and finding out about what is in our food. We hope we can add some photos of our 'healthy sandwiches' which we are going to make soon.

Mrs Huck took photos of our fantastic artwork because she thinks we are the most amazing, fantastic artists.

We hope you enjoy looking at our blog.
